Spend four weeks of language immersion at one of Vermont's beautiful campuses. Middlebury Interactive Languages summer immersion programs provide a transformative pre-college experience for rising 8th-12th grade students—from beginners to advanced speakers—who are passionate about learning a language.

Languages currently offered at our U.S. Immersion programs are: Arabic, Chinese, German, French and Spanish. Speaking in your chosen language 24/7 in a beautiful Vermont college campus setting, you'll engage in meaningful cultural exploration projects and gain the linguistic skills and global awareness to help you succeed in college and beyond. Over the course of four weeks, you'll make unrivaled strides in language acquisition, discover new ways of thinking and make connections with new people and cultures that will last the rest of your life.

The life benefits of learning another language are extensive. In college applications, you can differentiate yourself as language-savvy and culturally versed. You can also show colleges and universities, in the most real way possible, that you are dedicated to global citizenship and intercultural exchange.

Our Mission

The Los Angeles Leadership Academy prepares urban secondary students to succeed in college or on chosen career paths, to live fulfilling, self-directed lives, and to be effective in creating a just and humane world.

High-powered, performance-based assessment, and an integrated curriculum promote critical thinking and intellectual depth, breadth, and agility. Close relationships between students and staff and attention to students' individual needs and interests promote a community of well-rounded learners.

Students have opportunities to take action on important social issues, to work alongside community mentors, and to enhance the learning power of these experiences through reflection and skill development in the classroom.
